I spent a good 2 weeks scouring the local stores trying to find a decent pair of leather boots that were worth the money and had a little flare I was looking for. I definitely found that in these Franco Sarto "Cranes"! The coloring is perfect and I love the patina on the toes. The zipper in the back of the boot adds just that little bit of sass and character which I wanted in my boots. There have been some bad reviews concerning the zipper function, but I haven't had a problem yet-- whereas the Etienne Aigner "Chips" I tried on the the department store were already snagging! I also want to mention that I have 16" calves and these fit perfectly-- if you're a girl with "more developed" calves like I do, don't fret over these boots-- they fit like a glove! All around a great boot, so glad I found them!

I bought these in the cambridge brown color. I really like them except for the zipper. Prior to purchasing, I had read reviews on other sites complaining of the zipper. However, I bought them anyway thinking that it would only be a minor inconvenience. It's worse that I thought...Not only is it REALLY difficult to zip them, I'm now experiencing the zipper on one of them splitting open while I'm wearing them. (And, no, my calves aren't that big.) I've only worn them a handful of times. I'm very disappointed.

This leather boot is gorgeous with minimal adornments. Unfortunately the first time zipping them up you can tell the zipper is not going to last. I love how they are just plain leather that I can dress up or down. I had a very hard time finding simple boots, so I will pay the money when the time comes to have the zipper replaced. For the price of these, Franco Sarto could have invested in sturdier hardware.
